Beverly's POV
The next day I woke up, still sitting on the niche. The Sun shined brighter today than ever. I could hear my mum taking out the plates for breakfast, down in the kitchen.
I checked the time on my clock that was on my bedside table. It was just 13.30!
It was 13.30! I slept in today, it was already afternoon.
I got up and ran downstairs. My ankle twisted and I tumbled down. Landing straight on my back. And when I opened my eyes, Patrick stood there with his eyes wide, watching me surprisingly.
"Bev? How do you manage to do such awesome stuff?" He said chuckling and giving me his hand to stand up on my feet.
And as soon as I was on my feet my mum and dad came running.
"What happened here? We heard a great thud as if something came down from upstairs." My dad said, completely ignoring the fact that I was standing there, facing Patrick.
"Not something, someone," Patrick told my dad, nodding his head in my direction and then leaving me alone with my parents, laughing.
Estupido. I murmur under my breath. My parents looked up at me, with shock.
"Good afternoon sleepyhead. You finally woke up. Go, brush your teeth and meet us down in the next five minutes we're just about to sit down for lunch." My dad says, leaving to join my brother who was watching something on Netflix.
"Darling? Are you okay? Did you slept well! You had your nightmare again last night. I thought they stopped. Oh, my baby are you sure you are fine? If you want I'll set your plate and send it with your brother if you want to have lunch in your room." My mother said, all in one breath. Her eyebrows knitted together in concern.
She had always been really concerned about both my twin brother and me.
"Mom, I'm great. And I just had a nightmare nothing more. And no, I'll join you downstairs for lunch." I tell my mother, forgetting half of the questions that she asked me.
I turned on my heels and walked upstairs towards my room. When my mother called out, "Oh and by the way, Thomas called in. He seemed tensed. Why don't you talk to him?" My mother told me and without replying to her I ran towards my room slipping again on the stairs.
I'm really an accident-prone human.
I picked my phone up and dialed Thomas' number.
"Who is this?! How did you get this number?!" Voice came from the other side of the receiver and it was clear that my call went to his voicemail directly. It happened for the next five times and then he picked my call after me trying five times.
"Where the hell were you? You call up at my residence and then vanish? What is actually up with you? You knew I would panic at least you could've dropped a message if you were busy. Ignoring my call for five times ain't helping anyone. I thought you were dead." I said as soon someone answered his phone.
"Are you done? And I'm alive Bev. And even if I would've died, what would you have worn? That black dress that you wore to my birthday party?" He says, making fun of me. I'm sure he has that smirk plastered on his face that I fall for in the first place.
"Why did you call up?" I say ignoring the crap he had to say.
"Uhm, I was wondering if you could meet us all at our secret place? I have something that I think everyone needs to know." He says, his tone serious than ever. And you know it's trouble if Thomas is serious.
"Uhm okay I'll meet you, I need to go down now for lunch," I said into the speaker.
We both ended the call with I love you's. I brushed my teeth and rushed to join my family who were waiting for me at the table. During lunch, I told my parents that Patrick and I would leave to meet everyone. And when I told them that, Patrick looked up at me, wiggling his eyebrows. And through our twin telepathy, I told him that it's something serious and he replied with a nod.
After, lunch Patrick took out his car, and we drove to where we all were supposed to meet. My father taught him how to drive because he had no clue that Patrick knew how to drive the car and would take it without his permission. But, he quit doing that after one great accident.
When we reached where we were supposed to meet, Patrick parked the car near everyone else's. Now, we just had to walk down for a mile to a hut, that had been abandoned for years, but us five had made it our hideout. Away from everyone's eyes
When we reached, the door was ajar. Patrick pushed it. It made a creaking noise and everyone turned to look at us. Everyone sat in their usual place around the round, wooden table.
Thomas beside James, a gap between James and Mary so that Patrick can sit there. And a gap between Thomas and Mary for me to sit.
Thomas' laptop was turned on. It later in the center of the table. We all took our seats
"Guys come closer," Thomas said, asking us all to crowd around his laptop and we all did what he asked us to do.
On his laptop screen, an article was opened. It was about a house and it looked familiar. It was the house that stood tall across mine. It was the "Haunted House"
