Their bodies ached, from sleeping in such a weird position. For a minute they all just sat there, in silence, staring at the mirror that hung on the wall in front of them.
They stared, scared even of their own reflection. It felt as if their doppelgängers living somewhere in the Alternative Universe, were mocking them, laughing at them just because how scared they look, in a weird way.
It wasn't their expression, it was something else that gave it off, their body language. Their discomfort. Their reaction to even their own reflection.
Beverly, for whom this silence became deadly, deafening even, broke it. She spoke up. "Guys, let's go and have some Breakfast, it's almost the last week of our vacation and I am not wasting it thinking about anything weird that happens." She got up, got out of her bed and flew down the stairs.
She took out the pan, to prepare pancakes. Sometime later, everyone came down. Looking pathetic. They all looked tired and it was clearly evident from the bags under their eyes.
They all took a seat around the table. They all kept silent until they heard clattering of the plates. Beverly passed on the plates and the syrup that she took out of the cupboard.
Soon, Beverly joined them all on the table. They all chattered and took bites from their pancakes simultaneously. No one thinking about what had happened the previous night. It was until when Patrick brought it up.
"Guys? We can't just ignore what had happened last night! It wasn't something normal. I can't believe how you peeps can just keep on stalling that topic." Patrick says stating the facts and bringing up the topic.
"I'll kill you, Patty! We all are just giggling and having the best time. And you just had to - RUIN IT." Beverly said that furiously, getting off her chair.
"Bev? Chill, honey what happened last night, we couldn't have just kept keeping pushing it aside." Mary tries to calm her down.
"Whatever, that was, it was worse than any paranormal activity I've ever seen in any horror movie. Those shrieks could easily turn you deaf if you were anywhere near to it as 4feet." James says, joining in with Patrick and Mary.
"Hey, guys? Shush! Listen closely." Thomas says, putting a finger on his lips, asking everyone to keep quiet.
The wood on the front porch creaked. It felt as if someone was coming towards the house. Turner's were supposed to get it repaired, but they never got time to contact anyone regarding the problem.
All of them grasped whatever they found near them, just in case they ever need to attack, as for self-defense.
Beverly went for a knife, Patrick for his mum's favorite lamp, Thomas went for a flower vase which was empty and James went for his plate in which he ate. Mary kneeled down behind the counter - scared, she had her knees close to her stomach she curled her hands around her knees and due to the pressure, her knuckles turned White.
They all slowly walked towards the door. Thomas leading in the front and then the other three behind him. He reached the door and slowly opened it.
They all just stood there frozen, paralyzed in shock. They would've expected anyone but not this face.
Authors Note:
Okay, I know I am very late in updating my blog, but I personally have not got time to even breathe. My schedule is really hectic. I have got school stuff to complete and at this point my priority list is, Academics, Blog and then my passion to learn to play guitar. But thanks to Academics I do not get time to pay any attention to the other two. And since, next two years are my career making years so, I do not mind putting all my time into my academics.
Damn, that's intense!🤐🤯
Patrick is lit!🤣... The way he just brought it up!🤐
Hate you for leaving it on cliffhanger!😅
